The following is an overview of the process you can expect when applying for a mortgage with M&T Bank:

Getting Started
- Get pre-qualified for a mortgage
- Meet with your realtor
- Choose a home
- Sign a home purchase sales contract (NOTE: You may want to consult with an attorney prior to completing a sales contract)


Next Steps
- Select a mortgage product
- Decide whether to lock or float your interest rate
- Apply for your mortgage


Keep Moving

- Sign and return all disclosures provided to you


Take a Break

- Sit back and relax while an appraisal is conducted to determine the fair market value of the home you are purchasing


Approval

- If approved, you will be informed and notified if your approval is subject to certain conditions


Homework

- Secure a homeowners insurance policy
- Satisfy any remaining conditions for your loan approval

- You or your attorney should contact the closing agent to schedule your closing date once you've completed your "homework"
